Woolooware High School's "Fight against Waste" was recently acknowledged by NSW Parliament, in particular the impactful sustainability initiatives led by School Captains Jayden and Alicia.

The Return and Earn program, combined with the reward system for environmental merits, is proving an excellent way to engage students in actively caring for the environment. The formation of a Staff Action Pod to oversee sustainability goals further highlights the school's commitment to lasting positive change.

Congratulations to Jayden and Alicia on receiving the Breen Resources Environmental Sustainability Award! Their leadership is truly inspiring and sets a strong example for others to follow.

The Student Representative Council (SRC) Induction Ceremony is a special event that welcomes newly elected student leaders to their important roles within the school community. During the ceremony, students are formally introduced and take an oath to represent their peers with responsibility, respect, and dedication. It is an opportunity to celebrate their commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive school environment while encouraging active participation and leadership. The SRC Induction Ceremony marks the beginning of an exciting journey for students to develop their skills and make a meaningful impact.

On 12 August, 9 of our SRC students joined students from 18 other local schools to consider how they might contribute to building a school and community that aims to stop disrespect before it escalates. Our WHS student leaders all actively participated by contributing to discussions and represented their school with pride.
On 9 September,  students will return to Woolooware High School, to present their speeches, competing for an opportunity to deliver this message to the audience on the day of the Walk For Respectful Relationships,

A year at our school

"At Woolooware High School, I've gained more confidence in myself, especially in practical subjects. I've learned new skills, taken on challenges I would've avoided before, and actually seen progress in what I can create. It's made school feel rewarding and shown me what I'm capable of." - a Woolooware High School student
"My child really enjoys the wide variety of opportunities that he has been able to participate and succeed in. We appreciate the school making these opportunities available to the kids and my son has been very proud to represent Woolooware High School." - a Woolooware High School parent
