The Inclusive Education faculty at Woolooware High School is dedicated to ensuring that all students receive the support and resources necessary to thrive in their education. With a focus on collaboration, we implement best practices in differentiation and inclusive teaching strategies to empower students and promote success in all aspects of school life.
Community Access
Once a week, students attend Community Access excursions where they can develop the skills and confidence to participate in everyday community life. Our program focuses on enhancing independence, social skills, and real-world experiences by engaging students in activities such as using public transport, shopping, visiting libraries, recreational centres, or workplaces.
Post-School Transition and Work Experience
At Woolooware High School, students begin developing an Individual Transition Plan from Year 10, in collaboration with Department of Education staff and their parents or carers.
This personalised plan supports each student in identifying their strengths, interests, and goals, creating a clear pathway toward future education and employment. As part of this process, students have the opportunity to participate in weekly work experience placements, helping them build real-world skills and gain insight into potential career options.
Upon completion of Year 12, students are awarded their Higher School Certificate (HSC) and, where appropriate, can be connected with a Disability Employment Service (DES) or NDIS service provider to support a smooth transition into the workforce.
Students enrolled in the Inclusive Education Unit have the option to undertake a Life Skills pattern of study which includes learning all core curriculum subjects and the opportunity to participate in electives on the same basis as their year cohort.
“Every learner included, every learner striving for excellence.”
