Vocational Education and Training Courses

Hospitality

Hospitality students learn food & beverage skills as well as commercial cookery skills in a large commercial kitchen. Our commercial kitchen was specifically designed and built. It is completely tiled throughout with non-slip flooring, wall tiles and large external exhaust hood. Appliances include combi oven, cooktops/ovens, commercial dishwasher, bain marie, plate warmer, salamanders and an espresso coffee machine.

All Hospitality staff are Certificate IV Trainers and Examiners for Commercial Cookery and also for Food & Beverage Service & Espresso work.  This ensures the students have a broad range of knowledge & skills to allow them to become established in the workplace.

Construction

By studying the Construction Pathways course,  students will explore various aspects of the construction industry, including design, planning, building techniques, and safety practices. They will work collaboratively on practical projects, gaining valuable skills in areas such as project management, teamwork, and problem-solving. The Construction Pathways Project also emphasises sustainable practices and the importance of using materials responsibly.

By participating in this project, students will not only develop essential technical skills but also gain insights into potential career pathways in construction, architecture, engineering, and trades.

To complete the qualification students need to complete 2 x 35 hour work placements totalling the required 70 hours.
