Transition Programs

We work closely with our local primary schools to ensure exciting experiences for our future students. There are many opportunities for students to participate in programs such as peer coaching, High School for a Day and Leadership by the Bay.

By the time students move into Year 7, they are confident in their environment and part of the school community.

Learning Alliance – Our Professional Learning Community

(Burraneer Bay PS, Caringbah PS, Caringbah Nth PS, Lilli Pilli PS, Woolooware PS)

At Woolooware High School, we work closely with teachers from our local primary schools to develop our understandings of new syllabuses, assessment requirements, the use of ICT tools in teaching and learning, and to support one another in innovative strategies to engage our students to gain the best outcomes possible.

We have recently run workshops on 'Visual Literacy,'  'Aboriginal Education' and 'Teaching Science without a lab' for primary teachers. We are currently working on the new HSIE syllabus and on developing ‘coding clubs' across schools

Leadership by the Bay

This program was first developed in 2015. It is growing every year. Students from across all schools in the Port Hacking Network of schools are invited to send their student leadership teams to two workshops run by the Principals of Lilli Pilli Public School and Woolooware High School.

Students participate in a day of peer collaboration, learning new leadership skills and inspiration from special guests. They develop a school project to lead and report on their successes. This program is highly sought after as it allows for authentic leadership. It is wonderful to see our community of students thriving.
